What is a PassivHaus? The mission of this standard is to reduce heating and cooling needs by a considerable percentage through various solutions, which, added to a home automation system, certainly improve energy efficiency.
What does Zennio home automation contribute to the PassivHaus standard?
- Ambient Quality Sensors: Zennio's temperature and humidity sensors measure ambient temperature and relative humidity to send alarms, in order to always be informed about air quality.
- Luminosity and Exterior Temperature Sensors: Optimal monitoring of exterior light through sensors allows adding the functionality of turning off lights in case it is not necessary. Likewise, with these light and outdoor temperature sensors, in combination with movement sensors to detect presence, it is possible to automate the lowering of the blinds, in case the house is empty, with the aim of reducing the input of external heat and avoiding that the interior of the house is heated.
- Automation: To obtain better energy savings, lighting and window opening and closing detection are some of the pillars to be automated. Thanks to home automation, programmed scenes, real-time monitoring, and magnetic contacts, you can know the status of the lights and windows in a house at all times, and act accordingly, even remotely.
- Consumption monitoring: Likewise, all these solutions, combined with the various Zennio touch screens and capacitive switches, are the basic step that includes energy efficiency, however, to finish off the concept, and to be able to offer a complete PassivHaus, it is essential a proper monitoring of consumption. Zennio has the KEM, KES Plus and KCI meters, and several of the touch screens implement these meters.
